About Tom

Tomas first encountered the Science Fiction genre when he watched the Czech movie Ikarie-XB1 (based on the novel by Polish SF author Stanislaw Lem). He was terrified, he had nightmares long after that, but at the same time, he was deeply fascinated.

Since then, he literally devoured every SciFi title available in Czechoslovakia at that time (the choice was quite limited in those communist times). After the revolution in 1989, he got his first chance to meet the Fantasy genre, and it was love at fist sight.

Influenced by Andrzej Sapkowski, Robert Merle, Stanislaw Lem, Strugacki brothers, children's comics and other literary role models, he began to write himself.

His unique writing style and vivid imagination have earned him a loyal following of readers from around the world. He is also the proud owner of Votická 1 Antique Store, a charming shop located close to the heart of Prague that specializes in books, music and vintage items from around the world.

He tries to split his time between the shop, writing and family (takes care about two teenage sons and always looks forward to visits of one of his two daughters who do not live with him).

He doesn't own pets, assuming computer mouse does not qualify.
